File under Wahoo! Cool folks to make a movie of "Where the Wild Things Are"
Spike Jonze and David Eggers are set to make Where the Wild Things Are into a film.
Usually I am horrified to hear Hollywood is “remaking” a classic childhood memory into some total crap vehicle to help sell shitty hamburgers to kids (see: Cat in the Hat, George of The Jungle, The Grinch, …) Anyway, to hopefully set the world back in order (read: hopefully it will kick enough ass to make up for the past raping of my , well, um, past) is the big screen version of “Where the Wild Things Are” directed by Spike Jonze (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and written by Mr. Jonze and David Eggers (of McSweeny’s Digest fame). There is absolutely no possible way this could be mediocre, it’s either going to be fabulous or yet another bad reason to go to Burger King (like there aren’t enough already.)
