Youth Group, Stops In, Plays Music, Brings Joy
Australia’s youth Group dropped in on us on short notice and played a sublime 30 minute semi-acoustic set to a small, but appreciative crowd.
After a few frantic minutes scrambling to find a replacement for a broken guitar string, Toby and Cameron of Youth Group (semi-acoustically) rocked their way through a great set, comprised mostly of songs from their Anti Records debut, Skeleton Jar. Highlights included the song Drowned and Lillian Lies, both benefiting from the sparse acoustic and electric guitar arrangement. We wouldn’t let them leave without a promise to return in the fall, when they will be out on the road for a US tour with Death Cab For Cutie. Purchase a copy of Skeleton Key in the store during July and get a free copy of the in-store poster (on-line orders must pay additional postage for the poster).
