Win Free tickes to the Sold Out Sigur Ros Avalon Show, 8/11...

Okay, we are officially out of the free tickets with pre-order, but since some of us will be out of town during the show, we are gonna kick our tix into the hat. Sign up for the fingerprints email list (on the front page, please put "Sigur" in the comments) and we'll enter you to win a pair of these white hot tickets, winner will be chosen on Monday (8/09). Sigur Ros' new album TAKK, is due out September 13, and by all accounts is supposed to a bit rockier, but just as incredible as the one you can't pronounce. This Avalon show is a bit of a warm up for their October show at the Hollywood Bowl, and is likely to be the smallest room you will see them in this time around.

Jonsi, the singer of the band, says of the new record: (courtesy of nme ): "it's a bit more happy, with a bit more hope in it. the lyrics are small adventures, maybe like children's stories or something. i think the songs are quite simple and naïve and they have a central character to them. there's one called glósóli, and he wakes up and everything is dark outside and he can't see any light. he thinks that the sun is gone and somebody has taken it from the sky, so he makes a journey to look for the sun. he finds it in the end."
