PETE YORN FREE IN-STORE

P_Yorn_Soldout.jpgUPDATE: Wristbands are now gone, sorry but consider this one a sell-out.

PETE YORN FREE IN-STORE - Friday June 23rd, 6:00pm

We are frantically stocking the rock star cupboard, building our super-deluxe stage, and rubbing salts and elixirs onto our shaking hand, all in preparation for this Fridays in-store with Pete Yorn. It’s going to be a bigger deal than usual because the powers that be in Pete’s camp are really winding things up for this in-store. In addition to the spectacular live free entertainment you have come to expect at a Fingerprints in-store, we will also be recording the whole thing for posterity (and release, but more on that in a second) and possibly a streaming internet thing. Anyway, this email is to serve as a reminder to all who’ve already picked up a wristband, festivities will begin at 6:00pm (closer to sharp than usual, as Pete hes to get to the Vault for his show), if you want to stand close come early, for those who haven’t yet picked up a wristband, what are you waiting for? We have a small handful left, they’re free and they’re first come, first served (limited 2 per person). Oh, and just to season the pot, we will be offering a very limited number of pre-orders at the in-store which will include not only a copy of Pete’s new record The Nightcrawler (out 8/15/06), but an immediate gratification copy of the Westerns ep (details below) plus one of our nifty in-store posters (rock and roll history, just you wait) and, in a week or two, a CD copy of the in-store. Hell yeah.

Become one of Pete’s pals (and check out some of his music) at his myspace page.

Here is a little info on The Westerns ep track listing:
1.The Man (featuring the Dixie Chicks)
2.Never My Love (studio version of The Association classic featuring former Fingerprints staffer Farmer Dave Scher of Beachwood Sparks fame on pedal steel)
3. Don’t Mean Nothing (written by Pete for Nancy Sinatra, and recorded by her for her own record, this is Pete’s version featuring Natalie from the Dixie Chicks.)
4. The Good Advice (a ripper featuring Leon Russell on piano)
5. Lions
6. The Golden Road (recorded in Rami Jaffee's trailer in Malibu...a vibe so strong I can’t even explain)

If everything goes as planned, look for us to be streaming the in-store, right here on Indierecordshop.com in the very near future.
