Thompkins Square, the folks who’ve brought us both of the Imaginational Anthem releases, have again stepped up the plate with a new slice of acoustic guitar heaven called Berkeley Guitar. Featuring the work of three guitarists; Sean Smith, Adam Snider, & Matt Baldwin (all three of which will be joining us for this in-store event), this album sounds like it could easily have been released on John Fahey’s legendary Takoma label. Schooled in the works of Fahey and Robbie Basho, the three guitarists do the masters proud. Like a path diverging into three, these players start off headed in the same direction, yet all manage to get far enough off the main trail, incorporating stops to show their favorite vistas, that even those most familiar with the journey will find a fresh perspective through their playing.
