Several years ago we played host to NMA and I have to say it was a bit of a fluke, several of us were fans back in their formative years, but at the time we had them in they'd been pretty quiet and it would be a very safe statement to say that they absolutely killed. The set was acoustic and covered everything from "51st State" (which was their only performance of this classic song on the whole tour) to newer songs. I've always heard people refer to Billy Bragg as being punk, and I've always had a hard time with the statement, partially because I always felt punk rock and socially conscience folk music were diametrically opposed. After NMA's last visit I came to realize that these two disparate styles are so far opposite that they've already almost come all the way around. So, whether you love politically charged punk rock or socially aware folk rock this one should fall into the "don't miss it" category.
