Two years ago a friend told me about this amazing songwriter he'd heard that he thought I'd really like, and being that my friend has incredible taste in music I started looking into it (you can check out my friend Reg's radio show. Anyway, my search ended with me calling Kyle at home, where he was very nice and sent me a couple copies of his self released album. Reg was right; Kyle makes music that sounds a bit more bedroom than my usual favorite back-porch flavor, yet I continue to catch myself singing his songs at unexpected times. Great melodies, clever lyrics, and a voice that recalls Conor from Bright Eyes - though musically he's more upbeat and lyrically less political. Kyle does that "dark song wrapped in sunshine" thing that works so well for The Eels and it's upbeat enough to have you tapping along.

Some Recent Press:
"You could call Kyle Andrews a singer/songwriter and you'd be right on a technicality. He's more of a bedroom pop madman, a home-recording, hook-generating dynamo with enough personality to win over fans of everyone from Beck and Eels to John Vanderslice and Chad VanGaalen."

"It doesn't deserve comparisons to the Postal Service as much as you'd think--more like Elliott Smith experimenting with an unshaken Bright Eyes and a new sampler. But all that attention that the Postal Service got? Andrews more than deserves that."
    - Nicole Keiper, The Tennessean

You can spend some time with one of Kyle's songs.

Please join us in welcoming this new musical voice on his first visit to Long Beach. Kyle will also be playing the 15th at The Echo and the 18th at Tangiers.
