In what is shaping up to be one of only four US dates, Sweden's white hot buzz band Peter Bjorn and John will be stopping in for a very private performance for a handful of Fingerprints regulars. Peter Bjorn and John have become a worldwide phenomenon with their newest single "Young Folks." With it's incredible hooky whistled melody and guest vocals from Victoria of the Concretes, it has become a favorite at KCRW (who will host the band live in-studio earlier the same day), not to mention ranking as the #2 song of the year in the UK magazine NME. Musically it's hard to describe them better than Allmusic did when they said of their earlier album, Falling Out; "More punk than the Concretes, less frantic than Shout Out Louds, as catchy as the most tuneful of the UK post-post-post-punk merchants. Falling Out firmly established Peter Bjorn and John as a group to watch out for. Strike that. They are a band that has arrived in all senses of the word." February 6th will see the US release of their latest album, Writer's Block. Packed with a full disc of extras, it should be compelling enough to move those of you who've already bought the import to trade yours in for the upgrade.

Based on the fact that they've sold out all of their other US dates, we are expecting a full house, so this will be a wristband event. Wristbands are available with pre-purchase of Writer's Block with a limit of two per person. We are taking phone orders as well, for those of you coming from outside the neighborhood. (Sorry, the offer is available in the store and via phone only). If there are any remaining wristbands beginning Thursday Feb. 1st they will become available, without pre-order, first come first served, with the limit of two still in place. This should be one for your blog/diary/scrapbook/etc. Hopefully we'll see you here.
