Limbeck -- FREE INSTORE
Limbeck
FREE INSTORE
Thursday, 2/22,
7:00 PM
(Private Party, details below)
Since they last stopped in to play for us, the boys in Limbeck have been a busy bunch; they picked up an LA Music Award for Americana Album of the Year, they recorded their new album which is due out April 10th, and they filmed a video for the song "Julia" which shows them driving around our fair city, including a couple shots of Fingerprints (wa-hoo!). Now, after a couple of minutes rest they've set up a whirlwind tour of record shops and small venues to keep themselves occupied until the new album hits. I'd love to gush about the new record, but I think I'll be hearing the new songs, right alongside you, at this in-store. If you missed them last time, or haven't heard of them before, they started out writing emo/punk songs with decidedly alt-country leanings and now write alt-country songs with a beerhall at warped tour attitude. If you're a fan of edgy, yet hooky, songs with a decidedly California vibe, this should be right up your alley (stylistically think about a mix-tape loaded with late-period Replacements, Lucero from a year ago, and Ryan Adams/Whiskytown songs).
This will be a private wristband event, but wristbands are available with no purchase required. Drop in and grab a wristband or call to add your name to our guest list. Wristbands are limited so act quickly.
You can hear a few of Limbeck's song on their myspace page.
Just in case you missed it the first time around, check out samples from Limbeck's Let Me Come Home.
