KCRW Presents - The Electric Soft Parade -- FREE INSTORE
KCRW Presents - The Electric Soft Parade
Tuesday, 5/29, 7:00pm
In the battle for bombast Electric Soft Parade will not do well - oh, they have elements of Shoe-gaze and dream-pop, but their knack for subtlety will be their undoing; now, if the fight were for melody, sincerity, and a fresh perspective on the pop game, well, ESP is your new king. While it's hard to ignore that the frame they build on also supports bands like Bloc Party and The Kaiser Chiefs, it is their ability to blend the psychedelic elements of early Pink Floyd and the tunefulness of Elliott Smith with their pure pop sensibilities that really sets them apart. This will be a stripped down acoustic affair, followed by a signing and no wristband is required. Also catch ESP live on KCRW 's Morning Becomes Eclectic show Friday, May 25th (around 11:00am) and at Spaceland on Wednesday the 30th.
Some recent press:

- Q Magazine
"For the most part No Need To Be Downhearted is a gorgeous record - big music full of small touches."
- Dot Music
"Full of regret, hard-won wisdom and DIY pop artistry, No Need To Be Downhearted transcends bog-standard indie to build a world of sophisticated melody and ingenious arrangements."
- Mojo Magazine
