Events for October 18, 2006
BADLY DRAWN BOY - Troubadour
Damon Gough has brought his beanie out of retirement and he's bringing it to smaller venues than last time he was here. Rejoice, dang it. He'll be playing songs off his new record, which you did know about, right? It's good and well worth your pocket change.
MICHAEL BOLTON - Kodak Theater
I saw Mike when he was in a rock band and he used to ride his guitarist's shoulders around, in a move he copped from Bon and Angus. Unfortunately, his attempt to rock was only parrallelled by his later attempts to be soulful and his current attempt to be Sinatra. Shouldn't he have foregone music for something else by now? Maybe televangelism or infomercials? Oh well, I'll ease up, he did inspire one of my friends to not only grow out the back of his hair, but also to finally cut it and that is a good thing
POGUES - Wiltern Theater
If only every pub in Ireland had a band like the Pogues as its house band, what a marvelous thing that would be.
JOSEPH ARTHUR - Free Instore
No Wristband necessary
Wednesday, October 18th, 7:00pm
Joseph comes back to celebrate his new release, Nuclear Daydream. With this appearance, Joseph takes the crown for most visits to our humble little abode and there is a reason, he is absolutley fabulous in a live setting (but no slouch in the studio, to be sure). He has never disappointed when he's been here, so please join us.
